In Diary of a Star Pilot you meet a new hero for any kid or Star Wars lover: Stella! She is full of witty dialogue and thoughts and my daughter (the main reader of the book) and I both just kind of wanted to be her friend!Meech: Alien boy with a tail and the mysterious ability to think thoughts right inside Stella's head. He is a bit of a "damsel in distress", which is a nice twist, at least he doesn't end up saving her butt. But he gives Stella something she needs, which is family.
Jefra: a great Merlin-esque character that is full of his own surprises.
Has a couple grammatical errors, but nothing huge and doesn't get in the way of reading at all. Wasn't sure about this one, but glad I took a chance on it!

An easy read, well done.
I read this book with my son and both of us like it a lot. Good action and pacing with quite a few funny moments. I wasn't sure about it because it didn't have any reviews here, but I think it just hasn't got enough exposure yet. we were glad we gave it a try and my son already started asking about a sequel. Kids reading chapter books can easily handle this book by themselves I think, but it's also a nice one to read together.
